My Best Photo Blog Template To Date

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

"What Caught My Eyes" is the name of my new personal photo blog, and the template that I am using was inspired by Mike Matas fantastic Blogger blog,.. and was designed by me. The template is designed to just show pictures on the homepage, and no text,.. the only text that appears on the homepage is in the post titles. Both vertical (portrait style) and horizontal (landscape style) pictures of up to 800 pixels wide that are the first pictures in a post will appear centered on the homepage.

The template has a top navigation menu, a Blogger navbar that appears on mouse-over (which makes it easy to sign in, or make a new post), a widget in the header for Feedburner subscriptions or other social network icons, a customized Flickr widget in the footer section, a three column footer, and compact share buttons installed.

The template works fine in all browsers except any version of Internet Explorer (of course), people who visit the blog with IE will either see the complete post, or a small square the the pictures are supposed to be. They will also see a message that tells them that they can view the pictures by clicking on the post titles (only IE users will see the message).

Because of the issue with IE, I will only make this template available for download if enough people show interest in it through comments here (yeah, I need your comments too).

You can visit my new blog, and see the photo template HERE.

This post was written by: Adii Rockstar - who has written 18 posts on Gazette Edition. In this space you can include a little "About the Author" section to inform your readers about the author's background and specific niches. It doesn't have to be long, but it doesn't need to be short either. Nice little feature to Gazette this, isn't it? Contact the author

Ronnie7277, log into your Blogger account and go to your Layout, click on EDIT HTML, click on Expand Widget Templates, and then search for "This post was written by", everything you need to change is directly under that.

This template is amazing. Its everything I´m trying to make my blog into but I am not an html genius. How did you learn to customize the photos being the main focus and for interested readers to read on?

Thank you, Elise. If you want to learn how to do something to your Blogger template, just type "how to,.. and whatever it is you want to know" into Google, and someone will have written a tutorial about it :) And you can learn some things on My Other Blog :)

I am trying to make my template available for download, but somehow the scripts become corrupted when added to another blog. Once I figure out what is happening (and fix it), people will be able to download the template.
